היום , ה10.04.2022 נמשכים עימותים בין כוחות צבא ישראל לבין מקומיים פלסטינים במספר מוקדים בגדה – ובמיוחד בנפת ג’נין. עימותים דווחו על ידי מקורות פלסטיניים בכפרים יעבד ובוריק בשטחי הרשות הפלסטינית וכן התקיימו צעדות מחאה
מסגדי מחנה ג’נין מכריזים על ההתגייסות הכללית להתמודדות עם ההסתערות הצפויה על מחנה ג’נין תוך שעות על ידי כוחות צה”ל.
לאחר האולטימטום של צה״ל: דיווח על פלסטינים אשר חוסמים את הכניסות למחנה הפליטים ג’נין בכדי למנוע את הכניסה של הכוחות למחנה | בנוסף הזרוע הצבאית של הגיאהד האיסלאמי הודיעו על התגייסות כללית במחנה הפליטים ג׳נין.
עוד מג’נין, מתח גבוהה לקראת פקיעת האלטימטום להסגרת האבא של המחבל מתל אביב.

On recent events in Israel – so far, a series of “lone wolf” attacks. Reminscent of 2016 wave of attacks, in which dozens of Israelis killed. Very different from early 2000s Intifada when Palestinian groups were mobilised and there was wide, active support for such attacks.

Such attacks could continue, copycat style – it’s not difficult to cross from the West Bank to Israel (the “separation barrier” is something of a sham in that respect). But probably will remain individual acts, for now at least.

Two attacks were committed by ISIS supporters – Palestinian citizens of Israel. This is very unusual. ISIS has almost no support among Palestinians and the consensus against political violence among Palestinian citizens of Israel has only strengthened.

There is no indication of a shift among Palestinian citizens towards seeing violence as a legitimate means of struggle. If anything the opposite. Palestinian citizens are also among the victims and among first responders, not that it stops the right wing anti Arab incitement.

And it should be mentioned that the number of Palestinian casulties in 2021 (313, Btselem) was highest since 2014. 236 were killed in Gaza in May 2021; 77 in West Bank, which was much higher than previous years.

Those numbers refer to Palestinian who were killed by Israeli security forces, and five more were killed by Israeli settlers. There’s also a noticable uptick in settler attacks which result in injuries.
