who are we? Just an anonymous people… Why are we? To #UkraineUnderAttaсk #UkraineRussianWar

When I write or speak about Anonymous, the hacktivist collective, this is both a personal and academic interest. I started to pay attention to the Hacktivist collective in 2009 during their involvement in the early #OpIran.
Anonymous attacked official Iranian government websites and took them down.
I was impressed by their consistent achievements against oppressive regimes worldwide.
Wherever there was an uprising, people fighting for democracy, the hacktivists always seemed to be there and offer their help
. Anonymous operations, also known as “OPS,” became glorious and legendary.
The hacktivist collectivist created its own legacy.
Moreover, their social media accounts cultivated a notion of netizenship, a notion of trans nationality based on all net users’ shared humanity.
Over their social media accounts, the hacktivists promoted their vision of hacking through hierarchies and injustice.
Of course, not everyone responded enthusiastically to the vision; some even said that Anonymous is a PSYOP.
( I found a Reddit thread just about it, and I saw many posts on Facebook with this conspiracy theory)

I am a netizen, and my religion is human
This is how I feel being connected to others, sometimes.
At times, Netizenship can transcend our existing affiliations and rise above categories that divide us by gender, ethnicity, and religion. A person can be a dedicated Netizen and feel a commitment to others that goes beyond the commitments formed by blood and kinship.
At other times I felt that this was a somewhat naive point of view and that Anonymous was promoting meritocracy under the disguise of democracy.
Meritocracy means a society divided by classes based on skills and knowledge rather than other parameters. In other words, one may refer to Meritocracy as the rule of the skillful Ones, but it is not questioned what skills are the desired ones and which skills are useless compared to others. Not all skills are equal in terms of accumulating Capital.
The term netizen is a portmanteau of the Englishwordsinternet and citizen
as in a “citizen of the net” or “net citizen
It describes a person actively involved in online communities or the Internet.
