No one deserves the denial of the right to be heard,
and no one is voiceless. We need to listen carefully.
When I sit silently at the bottom of the well,
I can listen to the people
screaming at me from below, demanding to be heard,
and I can’t ignore those voices
of the oppressed.
If I do,
they haunt me in my dreams.
The voices from below only let go of me once I write them down,
word by word, sentence by sentence.
Sometimes I need to pull an all-nighter to listen.
I do my best to observe anything from what
The oppressed people say or post online.
The words of the oppressed people are precious to me.
I know what it’s like to be silenced
and what a pleasure it is to be heard,
so I turned it into my life goal-
to listen to other people and
to collect and write down life stories.
Life stories are a resource, a form of capital.
Every person is an expert or their own life –
a library full of unique knowledge.
